A Huron man has been charged with murder.

Police say they found the body of 55-year-old Michael Brown of Sandusky inside the home of 47-year-old William Brown Jr. on Willow Drive in Huron Thanksgiving night.

The Sandusky Register reports that the men are brothers.

Huron Police say Michael Brown had a large wound on his forehead; with signs in the residence pointing to him being the victim of an assault.

A man died after being pulled from a Huron fire that was believed to have been intentionally set.

According to the Sandusky Register, police knocked down a locked bedroom door on Mudbrook Road Saturday evening during the blaze, where 48-year-old Brent Reid was discovered with what authorities say appeared to be self-inflicted cutting or stabbing injuries.

The fire is under investigation.

Elyria Police continue their investigation into the shooting-death of a 17 year old boy.

He was found yesterday morning in a garage on Furnace Avenue.

Another 17-year-old has been charged with ‘tampering with evidence’.

African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton will remain closed until at least spring, following a barn fire Thanksgiving night that killed 10 animals.

The park says that officials have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.

The State Highway Patrol’s Sandusky Post has handed out some end-of-year honors.

Dispatcher of the Year went to 27-year-old Leah Chapman of North Ridgeville…while 35-year-old Race Baker of Orrville was named Trooper of the Year.

Both are in the running for State awards.

The Sheffield Fire Department has taken to social media, warning residents of a scam.

Apparently, someone claiming to be from the fire department is calling residents, asking for donations, fishing for personal information.

Again, Sheffield firefighters say, this is a SCAM.

A free “Stop the Bleed” class will take place tonight at Willard High School.

It starts at 6:00 pm, with residents encouraged to sign up online.

The class is part of Willard student Whitney Robinson’s senior project.
