Authorities say a Bay Village man is lucky to be alive after he reportedly drove his car off the road on Route 2 in Erie County …where he rolled down an embankment.

60-year-old David Sisco Jr. was injured…but was able to speak with troopers following the crash in Margaretta Township Sunday night.

The State Highway Patrol tells the Sandusky Register that Sisco drove his car through a median, off an embankment and overturned…eventually landing on its side against a concrete barrier near U.S. 6. 

He was charged with failure to control…with the exact cause of the crash under investigation.


The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office “Northern Border Patrol” is being credited with rescuing 8 people from an overturned Catamaran on Lake Erie, 5 miles north of Lorain.

It happened late yesterday afternoon…after the crew picked up a distress call from the Coast Guard in Cleveland.

They located the Catamaran and found 8 people without life jackets, standing on top of the overturned hull.


The Ohio Department of Health is targeting the vaping industry.

They’re committing 4-million-dollars for materials to raise public awareness of the dangers of vaping.

State health officials believe, 10 cases of severe lung illness are  due to vaping…


A Norwalk trucking company is collecting items for those affected by Hurricane Dorian. 

Now through September 22nd, Ploger Transportation on Cleveland Road will be collecting items such as…non-perishable food, water, toiletries, large trash bags, baby supplies, generators and air mattresses.

Collection times are 8 am to 4 pm, 7 days a week…with cash donations not accepted. 

Items will be shipped to a nonprofit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida…where they will be distributed to the Bahamas.


The City of Port Clinton has announced open competitive examinations for those interested in being a police officer there.

Applications can be picked up at City Hall starting Monday the 16th through October 15th…and must be returned by October 15th.

The selection process consists of a written exam, interview and a physical fitness test…with the written exam scheduled for October 19th at the Port Clinton Senior Center.


The 6th annual ‘Recovery Walk’ is set for Saturday in Sandusky.

The walk begins at 9 am at the Sandusky Artisans Recovery Community Center and ends at Shoreline Park Pavilion.

The event will include a ‘recovery rally’ with guest speakers…as recovery from substance abuse and other ailments are celebrated.   


A roundabout could be coming to Route 57 and Seville Road in Wadsworth, in 2022.

Last night, a public meeting was held, to outline the project.

It would cost about 2-and-a-half-million-dollars, with the state picking up one-and-a-half-million.

The goal is to improve traffic flow and reduce crashes.
