Huron County/Convicted child rapist sentenced  

A Wakeman man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after pleading guilty last month to rape involving a very young child.

29-year-old Robert Atkinson accepted a plea deal which dismissed six other counts of rape.

The victims were ages 4 and under.


Erie County/Convicted child rapist to serve life in prison

A man from Milan will spend life in prison after being convicted of raping a young girl earlier this month.

36-year-old Nickolas Moore was guilty on four counts each of rape and gross sexual imposition.


Erie County/Sandusky attempted abduction

Sandusky police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl Saturday evening.

The girl told authorities she was walking home alone in the area of Pierce and Buchanan streets when an unknown man chased her, grabbed her arm and put her in his vehicle.

She said she was then able to exit through another door and escape.

Police say they are reviewing nearby security video.

The suspect is described as a short black male with dreadlocks; appearing to be between the ages of 20 and 30.


Lorain County/Elyria crime spree suspect sentenced

Its 12 years in prison for one of three people, accused of taking part in a crime spree in Elyria…

This…after 24 year old Philip Boschetti Junior pled ‘guilty’ to several charges.

Police say, Boschetti and two others were responsible for half-a-dozen armed robberies of businesses.


Ottawa County/Man accused of calling 9-1-1 fifty times

A Port Clinton man pled not guilty Monday to multiple counts of disrupting a public service, inducing panic and attempted assault.

Police accuse 26-year-old Seth O’Neal of calling 9-1-1 fifty times in one night; which was preventing dispatchers from doing their jobs.


Erie County/Sandusky police hires first woman lieutenant

History for the Sandusky Police Department…

The department recently promoted Dawn Allen from sergeant to lieutenant…which makes her the highest-ranking female to rise through the agency’s ranks.

Allen began her career with the Sandusky PD in 2002 as a full-time officer.


Bellevue/Financial aid night

Bellevue High School is hosting a financial aid informational event this evening in conjunction with BGSU Firelands.

A representative from the college will be there to discuss loans, grants, scholarships and other financial aid resources.

It begins at 6:00 pm in the high school cafeteria.


Erie County/Restaurant news

Some news involving a couple of national restaurant chains and their futures in the Sandusky area…

Golden Corral looks to take over the former Ryan’s restaurant location on U.S. 250 and be open by next summer.

As for the rumors of Chick-fil-a, Perkins Township zoning inspector Megan Sherlund told the Sandusky Register that the chain could “possibly’ be opening somewhere along U.S. 250 in the future.
