Perkins Twp./Funeral arrangements for 15 year-old Perkins boy

Perkins High School in Sandusky will host funeral arrangements for a 15-year-old freshman boy who died suddenly after a basketball practice last week.

Stone Ambos collapsed Thursday night from a heart issue while at Norwalk High School.

Calling hours are 3:30 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the Perkins High School gymnasium with a funeral service Wednesday at 4:00 pm at the Perkins High School auditorium.


Sandusky/Body found in Sandusky Bay that of Huron man

A body pulled Friday afternoon from the Sandusky Bay has been identified as that of a missing Huron man.

28 year-old Justin Fidele reportedly went overboard while in a small boat on April 27th.

The body was discovered by a citizen near Edgewater Avenue and West Monroe Street.


Perkins Twp./Stabbing suspect arrested

A Perkins Township woman accused of stabbing a man in the chest was arrested on Saturday.

19 year-old Allison Marcum had warrants out for felonious assault and tampering with evidence after an alleged incident Wednesday night on Campbell Street.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released.


Bellevue/Prison sentence reaffirmed for convicted rapist

The 16-year prison sentence of a Bellevue man convicted of sexually assaulting a two year-old boy has been upheld by a state appeals court.

Michael Gates originally plead guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition in March of 2017, but appealed his sentence on grounds of having ineffective representation and other issues.


Sandusky/Trial postponed for accused killer

A Sandusky man’s murder trial scheduled to start tomorrow has been pushed back to July.

Joel Miles is accused of shooting and killing Sandusky’s Anthony Pearson while in MacArthur Park last August.

The trial was delayed after Miles’s lawyer requested more time to review information.


Erie County/Erie MetroParks grant money awarded

Grant dollars have been awarded locally to help better outdoor recreational activities.

Erie MetroParks has handed out over $24,000 in funds…

…$9,200 going to Vermilion for various improvements including seating and signage at their skate park.

…Also $6,300 to Groton Township for enhancements to the Township Park.


Norwalk/Work begins on Phase 2 of Old State Road project

Road construction scheduled to begin today in Norwalk…

The city says that workers should be out and about from the Reservoir Spillway south to Executive Drive, as the second phase of The Old State Road Widening Project gets underway.

Traffic will be maintained.
