Police investigating Sandusky shooting

Sandusky police are investigating a shooting that injured three people early Friday morning.

The unknown shooter reportedly was outside of the bar, Kaman’s Korner, at Milan Road and McKelvey Street; and shot two men and a woman in their 20’s who were in the doorway of the bar.

Anyone with info is asked to call Sandusky Police.


No injuries in US 250 crash

No injuries came from a four-vehicle accident Sunday evening on US 250 in Milan.

44 year-old David Hartman of Norwalk told authorities that his brakes went out and caused him to rear-end the vehicle in front of him; resulting in the four-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 250 and Ohio 113.


Norwalk man charged from November drug raid

A Norwalk man has been charged with a felony count of receiving stolen property for his role in a November drug raid.

37 year-old Jeremy Manus joins three others that were previously arrested during the raid where authorities found cocaine and meth.


Man from Sandusky sentenced for arson

A Sandusky man has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for arson.

39 year-old Anwar Watson pled guilty to multiple arson charges after admitting to setting fire to a residence on Scott Street in December of 2016.


Huron County: Two fatal traffic crashes reported for last quarter

The recently created Huron County Safe Communities Coalition and Fatal Crash Review Committee reports that two fatal traffic crashes took place on county roadways during the last quarter of 2017.

For the year 2017, a total of six fatal crashes resulted in six fatalities in Huron County, down slightly from 2016, where eight crashes caused nine fatalities.


Water rates on the increase in Norwalk

Water rates are increasing in Norwalk.

Starting with bills received in February, residents within city limits who use over 1,000 gallons will pay an extra 4 cents and those outside of the city will pay an extra 8 cents per 100 gallons.

The monthly minimum rate will increase from $4.30 to $4.50 for those in the city and will jump from $8.60 to $9.00 for those outside of city limits.
