A fall in Sherman Township has left a man in critical condition.

Andrew Bischoff was taken to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center Saturday, after falling 30 feet from a ladder, on the side of a silo on Dogtown Road. Bischoff suffered multiple injuries.


Huron police have identified a woman, who was hit and killed by a train.

45-year-old Robyn Hodgkinson died late Saturday night, after walking in front of a train near Rye Beach Road. Police believe it was suicide.


The Ohio Department of Health says, influenza activity is now widespread in Ohio.


The Huron County Commissioners will re-organize, for 2014.

The board’s annual re-organizational meeting will begin at 9 this morning, at the Huron County Administration building in Norwalk. The Commissioners will elect a president and vice-president, set meeting times and dates, set the public participation practice, and more.


The Norwalk Board of Education’s re-organizational meeting will begin at 6:30 tomorrow night, at Norwalk High School.

The board’s regular monthly meeting will start at 7.


Erie County has a new treasurer.

Pamela Ferrell has been chosen to replace Jo Dee Fantozz who resigned late last year due to health reasons.


Officials have lifted the boil advisory in Vermilion.

It was issued last week, due to multiple water line breaks.


New figures show, trials are becoming more rare in Ohio.

According to figures released by the state Supreme Court, just 2.5 percent of criminal cases in common pleas courts went to trial in 2012. Common pleas trials in civil cases were even rarer, just 1.2 percent statewide.


An Akron-area man is due in court accused to trying to buy a 10-year-old girl for sex.

Alliance Police arrested 36-year-old Robert Thomas Jr. this past weekend on several charges including human trafficking.  Thomas allegedly arranged a meeting online with an undercover officer to purchase the child and was arrested during the meeting.
