It doesn’t look or feel like spring.

This morning, snow and drifting snow forced a number of area schools to cancel classes.  Conditions also prompted snow emergencies in both Huron and Erie Counties.


Multiple charges have been filed against a Norwalk man accused of robbing his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint.

According to reports, Brandon Hahn was arrested early yesterday morning, a short time after the alleged hold-up. The victim told deputies Hahn showed up at her Berlin Heights home drunk. The two argued, before Hahn allegedly pulled a shotgun from a closet, held it to the woman, then stole cash from her purse. The victim’s 16-year-old son was in the home at the time. He was able to call deputies, before Hahn fled the scene. He was arrested later in Perkins Township, and was taken to the Erie County Jail. Among the ten charges against Hahn: aggravated robbery and DUI.


Nearly 1000 Ohio Edison customers in the Castalia area found themselves without power last night.

The power outage was caused by a downed utility pole and wires. The majority of customers had power restored before midnight.


A Vickery man has been charged with assault, for taking a swing at a Margaretta Township trustee.

John Hensley was arrested Thursday night. According to reports, Hensley tried to punch township trustee Joe Bias, during a meeting on the proposed demolition of a home on Crystal Rock Road. The condemned rental home is owned by Hensley.


The Bellevue City School District is currently accepting applications for open enrollment for the 2013-2014 school year.

Forms are available at the board office or at  The deadline is May 15th.


Due to a lack of business, tomorrow’s meeting of Norwalk City Council has been canceled.

City Council’s next meeting will be held April 2nd.

Ohio State is Sweet 16-bound for the fourth consecutive year.  The Buckeyes will play the Arizona Wildcats Thursday night in L.A.  Tipoff is set for 7:47pm and you can hear it live on 95.3 WLKR.

Monroeville’s Logan Stieber is a two-time NCAA National Wrestling Champ.  The redshirt sophomore won his second title Saturday night in Iowa.  His brother Hunter finished third.  Both Logan and Hunter Stieber wrestle for Ohio State.
