Kelly Rose’s Good News For People Who Love Bad News

Normally when you hear about an NFL player dropping $19,000 and Child Protective Services getting involved, it’s not good news.  Andre Johnson, a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, held the annual shopping spree for his charity foundation on Tuesday.  Andre has Child Protective Services select 12 at-risk kids . . . and then he takes them to Toys “R” Us.   The kids have 80 seconds to put as many toys as possible in their shopping carts . . . and when time is up, Andre BUYS them ALL.  (–He wears jersey number 80 . . . which explains the time limit.)  Each kid was also guaranteed a video game system of their choice and two games.  This year’s bill came to $19,521 . . . which is $1,626.75 worth of toys for each kid.  (–Andre signed a seven-year, $62 million contract last year.)
